Anointed for service

"See I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts - to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftmanship...."

Exodus 31: 2-5

I wrote a post on the anointing a few years ago and I defined the anointing as being 'empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry out a certain task.' It is not for people to accord us with titles, it is not for notoriety or popularity, it is not to create a gap between the 'anointed' and those we feel are not, for we are all anointed just that we have been anointed to do different things. I think we church folk really need to learn this.

Moses was anointed to be a leader. God gave him clear, specific instructions regarding how the tabernacle should be built, I mean it doesn't get more specific than this and I thought I was a perfectionist...lol! However when it came to the actual work, God anointed and thus appointed someone else. I believe this is another example of godly leadership, freeing people to serve God with their God given ability and not trying to stifle their creativity.

The most important point for me to reflect on in this passage was the balance. God says I have filled this man with the Spirit of God but He didn't end there, He also gave him skill, ability and knowledge. Our anointing comes to ignite our natural skills, abilities and knowledge. Its isn't an either/or, either the Spirit or ability but a both/and both the Spirit and ability. The Spirit just makes our talents go into high definition! All these factors need to work together and I believe this is what makes believers relevant, especially in the times we live. We can speak in tongues and we can also make artistic designs, sing, teach, manage the church's accounts, clean, cook a meal, give elderly folks in church a ride to church. Outside the tabernacle we can also be relevant and show the world that our God is great by providing excellent customer service, meeting deadlines, getting work done, writing great reports etc.

I believe that just like Bezalel, God has chosen each and every one of us to do something. Something special, something unique. Whatever it is, it was given that we may bless others with it. And in blessing others, we ourselves will be blessed. Blessing others doesn't have to mean doing work for free but meeting needs in people lives, some needs which they will happily pay you top dollar for but that is another post.

I am filled with the Spirit of God and will bless the world with the skills, abilities and knowledge He has given me.

Supernaturally natural, Naturally supernatural

Like Oliver Twist, I want more. Some events over the past few months have made me realise how important it is a believer to always seek more. I believe a lot of us live below our potential because our eyes have not yet been opened to the abundance that is our inheritance in Christ. The title of this post is a phrase my pastor usually uses when he tries to explain to us that we are to be different. As believers, God has given us the Holy Spirit and through Him we should develop fruits and gifts that make us different. I've told God I'm tired of struggling and toiling. I'm not against hard work but sometimes I feel like how Peter and John must have felt after putting in all their effort through the night to catch fish and coming up with nothing. Having Jesus in your boat should definitely make the difference. This post is about renewing and developing a relationship with the Holy Spirit by putting a collection of verses I have and will be meditating in coming days on my journey to being supernaturally natural and naturally supernatural.

We need the Holy Spirit, we need discernment, we need wisdom, we need counsel, we need comfort, we need the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, we need you. We really need you. I need you. Holy Spirit, I need your counsel in every decision that I make, I need you as a business partner, I need you as a confidante, I need your fruit to be manifest in my life to enable me be mature in the things of God. I need your gifts to enable me fulfill my purpose. I need you to supervise me on the projects I am undertaking. I need you to reveal the hearts of the people around me, not to judge by what I see or what I hear but by what the Spirit says. Thank you Holy Spirit.

But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. In regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to John 16:5-13

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power,the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears Isaiah 11:2-3

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners Isaiah 61:1

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth Acts 1:8

And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. Joel 2:28-29

One last thought, what or who influences the decisions that you make? I believe in always making 'sensible' decisions but whose sense? Does it make sense in the natural or is Spirit sense? Sometimes going with the Spirit may make you seem 'senseless' in the natural but always go with the Spirit. Don't know who that was for but it definitely was for me. Selah.

Father I thank you for the anointing to pray on the anointing.Thank You Lord because I know that as I pray and people read they will be refreshed in their Spirit-man and soul according to Psalm 116 v 7. Lord I thank You for the Authority Jesus gave to us when He left earth, thank You for the Holy Spirit that is here on earth to finish the work that Jesus started.

Thank You Lord for the greatest work that is the renewal of our man to become more like Jesus and I pray that according to Romans 12 v 2 we will renew our minds rather than conform to the world and it’s patterns. Father, I thank You for the anointing for change, the anointing for renewal, renewal of our minds to take on the form of Christ. I pray right now that for every person reading this that they will experience this change, and start to become more like Jesus Christ, and for us to be anointed in Power, Might and the ability to love and have compassion.

Father I pray for that we start to understand the relevance of actually being more like Jesus Christ and that according to Ephesians 1 v 18, I pray also that may the eyes of our hearts be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which we have been called; the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints.

I pray for the understanding of the importance of being one as a body as Jesus Christ is One with You, not just in word, but in deed, in the Name of Jesus.
Father I pray right now for those whom You have deposited a calling in their lives, I pray that as I am praying and they are reading, an anointing will come upon us, touch our hearts and ignite the fire of our calling in the Name of Jesus. Father I pray that You start to quicken things in our environment and awaken our minds to the things that You are calling out to us in the Name of Jesus. I pray that this Year will not pass before those who do not know their calling start to realize their calling and for those who know continue to obey Your Will according to Your Ways in the Name of Jesus, and that this Year will not pass before we all start to see the manifestation of the Kingdom of God in and around us in the Name of Jesus. Whatever the calling may be, whether in ministry, business, education, entertainment or governing, they will get on the right track and start to manifest Kingdom characteristics in the Name of Jesus.

Lord I pray that if anyone is walking in strife, that You touch their hearts and start to forgive or seek forgiveness so as to allow the Holy Spirit to work in them through the anointing in the Name of Jesus. I pray for Your Love to overflow in our hearts so as to overcome strife in the Name of Jesus. Lord I pray that the healing anointing start to heal every relationship that may be hurting so that Your Love can flow more through us in the Name of Jesus. I pray for every broken heart and every scar to start to heal in the Name of Jesus. Thank You for the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding and Revelation will start to come upon us, for those who are seeking Your Face, that we may find Your Glory and that we may be empowered in Your Presence in the Name of Jesus. I pray that an anointing to break forth will rest upon us especially those who are asking you for the next steps to take in the Name of Jesus. I pray for Toyin as she is seeking Your face, for the revelation of who You are. I pray for Dupe, I pray for Kemi, I pray for David, I do not know these people but You know them, I pray for an anointing for them to break them loose from whatever is holding them back in the Name of Jesus.

Lord I commit all of us into Your Hands for a fresh anointing to go through this Year victoriously in the Name of Jesus as we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Words of Our Testimony according to Revelations 12 v 11.
I thank You for the owner of this blog that as she has obeyed You, she will receive a refreshing in her life and she will see the signs around her and she will follow You harder in the Name of Jesus. We receive with thanksgiving in the Name of Jesus.

A Prayer for the anointing

Daddy, all glory is due unto your name. Be exalted O Lord above the heavens, let your glory be over all the earth. You are the covenant keeping God and there is no one like you. You keep your word to the last letter. If you have said it, you will do it. You cannot lie and you cannot fail. Father, give me the grace to do what I ought to do even when it isn't what I feel like doing. Thank you for quickening my spirit with your word, thank you for giving me the grace to live for you. Thank you for the strength to hope in your word and see you do exceedingly, abundantly and far beyond my expectations. Daddy, I give you praise. Lord, I magnify your name. You are Holy, you are Righteous, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Bright and morning Star, the King and the Lord over all. At the mention of your name, every other name must bow, every tongue must confess that you are the Most High God. Jehovah Elyon..

Father your word has shown us that in creating us, you have done so with a specific purpose and mission in mind. The plans you have for us are good and not evil to bring us to an expected end. Father, King of glory when I look at myself and the journey ahead, I wonder how I can get to that place for even my strengths look puny before Goliath like challenges but Lord I remember your word also shows me that for every task there is an anointing that comes from you an empowerment to do what you have called me to do. Today O Lord I ask for a fresh anointing, just like the oil that Samuel poured on David that enabled a forgotten son to rise from obscurity to kingship, enabled him to slay the lion, the bear and Goliath, Lord let the anointing fall on me afresh and anew. Like the showbread that was continually replaced in the sanctuary O Lord, ignite me anew for I do not want to face today's battle with yesterday's anointing. I do not want to wage war with yesterday's instruments.

Your anointing breaks the yoke. Lord, let this new anointing break the yoke of limitations, the yoke of negative mindsets, the yoke of confusion, the yoke of strife, the yoke of fear. Lord, every yoke. Let me grow 'fat' (lol!) because of the anointing. Lord, your anointing comes with REVELATION..may my eyes see beyond the ordinary, your anointing comes with MANIFESTATION..may the works of my hands show that indeed your anointing has fallen upon me O Lord, you anointed your son to preach the gospel and heal the sick...everywhere He went the manifestation of your anointing was evident to all. May that be my testimony O lord in the mighty name of Jesus. Your anointing comes with TRANSFORMATION, the ability to be different, to see differently is to know differently and to know differently is to act differently. Your Spirit came upon Saul and he became a new man, Lord make me a new woman. A woman of God. A woman of purpose and passion. A woman of progress. A woman of discernment, a woman used of God to make your glory evident on the earth.

Your anointing enables me to PROPHESY, to speak your mind concerning a matter. To call those things that be not as though they were. Heavenly Father, you said you need those who are willing and obedient. Help me O lord, the anointing fell upon Saul and he began to prophecy, let your spirit enable me to speak the mind of God in my life, in my family, on the job, in your house. Everywhere I go Lord, use my mouth to speak your heart. Father, I ask your forgiveness in anyway I have taken the anointing over my life for granted. Let my testimony be that of David, always inquiring of the Lord for each step and even when I err O Lord, to come to you in total repentance. Help me Father, for to execute your will on earth, I need a fresh anointing. Thank you Holy Ghost.
