A season of prayer; Day 11

Share
A prayer for peace

Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

(First verse, "Be still my soul", by Catharina von Schlegel

Ancient of Days, I am that I am, Holy One, you deserve the glory, honour and praise. Thank you for another opportunity to give you praise. In all the seasons of life, you remain God. From infancy to childhood; adolescence to adulthood, even as a rocking elder, you will still be God showing yourself strong and mighty. In autumn, winter, summer and spring, you are God.

Father today I thank you for my family, those connected by blood and those you have grafted into the 'quilt' of my life. Daddy, we may be related but we are different people, different personalities and different outlooks on life and due to that we do not always get along, sometimes we outright clash, sometimes we throw the fruit of the spirit like patience, self-control out of the window as we really get down to it but Lord I thank you that you have bound us together with love. Your love keeps us and guides us and we pull together even when circumstances want to pull us apart.

Today I pray for peace; that stillness that comes not because there is no storm but because you are with me in the storm and until there comes a wind that you cannot still, then teach me to know that there is no reason to be afraid. Like Gideon who built an altar to Jehovah Shalom- the Lord is peace even though the enemy was on all sides give me that peace in my heart. I speak to the storms, I command the waves with the authority vested in me as a child of God and I say Peace, be still. I speak to my heart, I speak to my soul, Be still. I encourage myself in the word of God and choose to bear patiently, like Joeseph until the word that has been spoken over my life comes to manifestation.

Daddy, Lord I must be at peace for you are my peace. Holy Spirit you enable me bear the fruit of peace. Your word says blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God. O lord as I pursue peace in my own life, help me to also be a bearer of peace, help me O Lord not to add strife to the lives of others, let my words and my actions bring about peace in the mighty name of Jesus. I pray for fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, husbands and wives, mothers in 'love' and daughters in 'love' father give us all peace in Jesus name.

For He himself is our peace Ephesians 2:14

@all: He says Be still and know that I am God as I work out your salvation....He works it out; not us, it's not easy being still but hopefully by His grace we can learn to be
