A prayer for believers in positions of leadership offered by Simeon
I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness 1st Timothy 2:1-2
Father in heaven I want to say thank you and appreciate you for the gift of life, for loving us and giving your son for us…for giving us your spirit also to guide and minister to us lord we say thank you.
I want to use this moment to thank you for your children that have labored and are currently in top management, government offices and handling their own personal businesses, for those of them that have lived and conducted their businesses by your principles lord I say thank you for the grace that brought them to the various positions they now occupy.
You alone know those that truly live by and work by your principles, for these ones, lord we ask for more strength for them and for more wisdom .That you help them to operate in integrity so that they can obtain favour from you as they go about their dealings with other people.
Lord, it seems like the environment gets harsher everyday for those who seek you and walk by your principles, we want to ask that you continue to be with your children in all stages of their career and in all levels of the economy. We ask for an indwelling of your spirit so that they will be over-comers in every sense of the word. We ask that whenever they face decisions, you will help them to see beyond themselves and the next moment but consider the end of the matter and decide rightly. We declare that in moments of turbulence and uncertainties your peace will reign in their hearts. Lord we also ask that you help them also to please you in every other aspect of their lives outside the office.
We ask all these in Jesus’ name.
Lord we bless you, and say thank you thank you thank you for granting all we have asked for.

A Season of Prayer: Day 27
A prayer for Barack Obama
Abba Father, thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for these 2 hands and ten fingers that I can use to type this, thank you that I can type, thank you I have access to the Internet, thank you that I know how to use Internet Explorer, thank you for allowing me to meander through Safari and the other weird stuff on Macs (Sorry to Apple fans). I thank you for my family, for journey mercies, trains that arrive on time and even those that don't, I don't have to walk to school. Thank you Baba for those little but ever so important things that I take for granted. Thank you for helping me find the jewellry, you are just the BOMB. Alpha and Omega, I give you praise.
Daddy, what a day yesterday was. A day that showed us that if we can dare to believe, the impossible can happen. Father, I know that nothing takes you by surprise because you are the all knowing and all seeing God. Your word commands us to pray, intercede and give thanks for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. It is with this premise that I commit the new president of the United States before your throne of grace. Yes, I am happy that a black man has become the president but Father this is beyond that. These are trying times for anyone and the issue is not the colour of his skin but the position he presently occupies. Lord, be his wisdom. Lord, be his strength. As you gave Solomon wisdom that enabled him to lead his country to the top, give to him O Lord in Jesus name. Father as all eyes are on him, enable him to keep his gaze on you.
Father, I pray for your divine protection over his life and that of his family. I pray for the grace for the job he fills. Truth be known, I really don't know how to pray this prayer but since the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don't know what to say, Holy Spirit take over. Your word says that the hearts of kings are in your hands and you direct them in the way that they should take. Lead him and show yourself to be strong and mighty. Enable him as your word says to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute, enable him to speak up and judge fairly and defend the rights of the poor and needy. May his decisions be like those of Joeseph which enabled Egypt to remain a superpower in a time of crisis. I think this is more of a prayer to be prayed in tongues but since I can't write in tongues, I'll call it a day here and continue on my knees.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9
